I have encoded all my video files to MPEG-1/NTSC following the guides found here with TMPGenc. When I press "Burn" in Nero after selecting VideoCD, Nero starts an "encoding" process for each file, which takes forever. Once this done, then Nero burns the VideoCD.

Why is Nero "re-encoding" each file if they were already encoded with TMPGenc ? What am i doing wrong ?

    Thanx!

well, that is odd but there is a way around it i think!. when you start a new vcd compilation, it should be called video 1 or something like that. Click Video 1 and click file - compilation info. First make sure you have it set to NTSC. Then untick standard compilant cd and click ok!

Thanks for the reply. I finally figured it out before I saw your reply ;-) But I think it should be added to the FAQs or in the Tutorial because there is nothing about the "Create standard compliant CD" option of NERO.

I used to use Nero for burning MPEG2 (SVCD) but later found out that some of my burned cd's had playback problems. I switched to a program called VCDEasy and haven't looked back. I now burn my movies bin& cue format.

    VCDEasy:http://www.vcdeasy.org/
This program is specifically designed to burn SVCD, VCD

Experts making backups of SVCD& VCD use VCDEasy, newbies use Nero. Nero is known to have serious issues while playing backups, especially MPEG2 format. Maybe VCDEasy is a little too advanced for you?

what about NTI. I use it, but is it considered to be any good. I haven't come across any problems yet. I switched from Nero.
