    Hi

wasnt sure whether to post here or in the dvd writer section. my apologies if this is the wrong section. i have just installed a new LG drive as a slave on the secondary IDE channel and am having trouble getting data DVDs to burn using the same media i have always used successfully with the LG burner it replaced. I have updated the firmware on the drive to the latest version. The Pioneer drive burns the same media fine. would someone pls be kind enough to check over the log and see if there is anything i am missing

The second attempt to burn gave a different error to the "track following error" produced above, this time giving an "unspecified recorder error"? i am wondering whether the drive is caput and i need to RMA the unit under warranty.. dma is on, aspi layers are working fine/operational according to the nero info tool and the aspicheck.exe utility. Can anyone shed any light on my problem. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

This error with other burning programs comes out as Invalid field in CDB, which from what I gather
, or it could be because the source file is corrupted or you have something running in the computer that interfered and stopped the data flow, or a loose cable or bad discs.

    Then, you have another error
That's a spindle servo error if I am not mistaking( the motor that spins the disk),the speed the disc is spinning is not correct. It could be anythings from not spinning at all to not spinning at the correct speed.
It could be a problem with the motor or mechanism that clamps the disk to the spindle but it could be bad discs. If the center hole of the disc is not correct it could cause this error also.

Try different and better discs(even though you used the same before, you could have a bad batch suddenly). Worst case scenario, you need a new burner.

The media that you are using (Apple?) never used it or heard of it as being recommended. Buy some Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Sony/Maxell( made in Japan, they are different from the Taiwanese counterparts). Also, try burning a different file, the one you attempted could be corrupt.

P.S I see that this particular media code MCC 02RG20 comes out under a few obscure different names, Apple,Blue Chip, Blue Pack,Infinity, Hypson....,and also is the code for Verbatim (DataLifePlus).I am not sure what brand you are using, but they might not be real Mitsubishi dye, there are a lot of fakes out there.
