ok i am hoping someone here can help me. i burned 5 cd's in the past 2 weeks both with nero ver 7 and roxio basic. all of the cd's work on my cpu as well as my players in my house but when i try to play it in my car cd player, it does this odd thing where i can hear it spinning in the drive but it will not play. the tracks show on the screen but it will not play the song. the odd thing is though if i hit the button to change the track back and forth between tracks the songs that i have on the the disk will start playing but if i turn the car off of switch to the radio the cd will start to spin again but not play. i have some old mix cd's that i burned months ago and they work no problem, so it's not my cd player. am i just burning it in the wrong format. any help would be great.

a few questions...has your car cd player played burned CDs in the past, or is this the first time? what type of media are you using? you might me using crappy CDRs and need to get higher quality ones. How old is your car CD player? Older generation ones often can't read CDRs...I had that problem a few years ago with an older Kenwood head unit. Also try burning your CDs SLOW...I mean like 4x or 8x slow...

yes it has played burned cd's in the past this problem just started 2 months ago. i use a mix of memorex and verbatim cd-r's 80 min 700 mb. my cd player is about 8 years old, it came with the car. i can still put my old burned cd's and they work but the new ones will only work if i put them in and wait for about two minutes the cd will start then start to play.

in that case, sounds to me like it needs to be cleaned. they sell lens cleaners which are CDs with small brushes on them that get the dirt and smoke off of the laser lens. they cost about $10. thats problably the problem...your CD player is just in need of a cleaning
