So I follow this guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guideshing /archive/avi_to_dvd_avi2dvd.cfm to convert my avi to DVD. The movie I had were split into two 700 MB files. It took 4 hours to complete the process. However, something happened when the 2 avi files were joined together. For some reason, 2 lines of subtitle was repeated twice so that messed up the timing of the subs of the 2nd part of the movie.

Anyway, I just wanna ask is whether if there is a faster way to convert avi to DVD with .srt sub files? I think my computer is pretty good, WinXP Pro, 1.53 GHz and 1GB of RAM.

Try use DVDSanta to encode, and Nero to burn ('cos DVDSanta doesn't burn that good).

DVDSanta usually takes about 1:1 time or less (i.e. 2 hours for 2-hour movie).
