I have noticed there was a problem device in my computer management many years ago, I then went to device manager and noticed under other devices I have a yellow ? Then inside the tree there is an yellow ! next to pci device and an unknown device. So next to tried many times to install/uninstall/reinstall/etc new drivers. Nothing, it just said, "no driver found" , so since my computer was working ok I just gave up.
Now many years later I want to try and install a graphics/video card so I can watch files/streams/files/etc on my television. I then buy a pci nvidia geforce fx 5200 card and proceed to install card into white pci slot which is on a riser board which is then connected to the motherboard.Nothing!! After many days waiting for support and researching nvidia forums, AS well as going to dell and searching my service tag and following directions I still have no fix.
So I am wondering if I need a special driver for the riser board itself? do I need to replace pci slot where riser connects to motherboard? Is my board broke? Maybe a driver for the motherboard? I am all out of ideas. so here are some general info and specs or screenshots to help idenify my problem. thanks in advance.

current graphics card: Intel(r) 82845g/gl/ge/pe/gv graphics controller
( I do believe this is an onboard) I was going to try and disable it temporarily but could not, option in properties to disable not available. only uninstall. I also read in some forums to change some bios. but my bios did not match to suggested. Also I am having keyboard failure! I can temp fix by unplugging cp and draining power, then restart.

It sounds like you are missing chipset drivers; not sure what chipset you have since you didn't post a make or model.

Thank you very much, I installed ininfinst_enu.exe and pci device is no longer a problem device. However I dont see pci device in device manager any more. I believe this would be because there is nothing plugged in to it. So now i have to research a graphics card which would be good with my system or else go back and buy the nvidia geforce fx 5200 (the one i just returned due to no support, Over a week and still no call back or responses in their forum.) so hopefully you will not here from me to soon. will keep this post updated for anyone else who may have same issue.
again I thank you for all the help.

By nothing, I assume you mean it didn't POST correct? Check at the back - the 4 LED's near the keyboard and mouse probably have A and C illuminated orange, and the other 2 green correct?

I have the same problem. I have a bad feeling that the riser card just doesn't support this kind of graphics cards.
