I have purchased a new compaq 6000v computer with a HP DVD400I writer. It only uses DVD+R disks. I have copy CDs without any problems. In addition, I copy a full Recovery DVD Disk so I know that the DVD writer works. Problem is that the DVD writer bails out everytime at 10% and goes into finalizing stage. It does is with the DVD decrypter and the DVDxCopy platinum. I have tried to remove all the programs that can conflict but have not been able to get it to work. In addition, the computer came with recornow version 6.5.1. but it will not allow me to copy a copyright game or movie (exception PS1 games was able to copy using recordnow). It tells me that is a copyright and bails out. I have removed this program also because I thought that it was the one conflicting but it did not work. Bottomline I end up doing a complete recovery on my computer. I need help trying to identify what is my conflict. Is there a feature that HP/Compaq puts on their computers so that the original DVD disks can not be copy? I have used CompUSA DVD+Rs. I would appreciate any help
not so sure about your problem. but you might want to try using AnyDVD to remove the copyright protection (just install, it will auto does it job each time you put a disc into your comp. I'm using DVDXCopy Xpress and DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD and haven't got any problem so far. However, I use Shop4Tech Matrix DVD-R (most games and movies I backup onto a DVD+R got problems).
For a start use good media , like Arita X4 DVD+R for instance. If you want answers on X Copy look here: http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com PS2 games are done v.easily using DVD Decrypter ; Mode > ISO Read > ISO Write !;-)
speedyg: Try using a DVD-rom to rip the DVD to your HD with DVD Decrypter os SmartRipper 2.41 then use DVD Shrink if needed and finally burn your disc... Let us know what you do and what your results are... Later
I finally got everything to work properly. I changed the media to memorex DVD+R. Was able to backup my movies with DVDxCopy PLatinum and use Nero Burning software to backup my Playstation 2 games. Did not have to remove any program after reinstalling my operating system. Weird that other DVD media was good for data but not for video type of files. Thanks for everyone's response,
