Hi all need some help. I'm using Panasonic DVD-RAM LF-D310 and Nero version 5. I have been using it to burn DVD-R quite a few times in the past with no problems. I was trying to make 2 copies of a personal DVD the other day using the disk image function. The first copy worked fine. The second copy failed at some point during the burn with the error "This is not a CD Recordable". Now, every DVD-R I put in gives an error "This is not a CD Recordable" at some point during the burn. It does this whether in test mode or burn mode, and sometimes gets over 50% through the burn without a problem then gives this error. The DVD-RAM functionality appears to still be working fine. The first disk that failed was the same brand (Packard Bell) as the one which worked fine. After that I ran out of Packard Bell and changed to Panasonic. Since this problem suddenly started happening from one disk to the next, and I had not installed any software or made any adjustments to the PC in between, I am suspecting a possible hardware issue? However I would appreciate any further hints as I suppose it could be any number of things causing this. thanks Patrick Warner
You should upgrade to the latest Nero 5 which is 5.5.10.54. which gives better DVD recording performance than older versions. You can download it from here free as an upgrade: http://www.softpedia.com/public/scripts/romanianhero/3-1-21 Also make sure that 'multisession' is unchecked before burning. You might also consider updating the firmware for your burner.
