Ok, I have the 1st gen Nano, 2gb. I had Linux on this iPod before, but I have gone quite awhile whitout my iPod charger, another story. Anyways, I decided to start fresh. I restored my iPod with the new updater. I recently bought the second gen iPod as well and used the updater I beleive it 'suggested I use that. Well since apple is getting smart about the whole Linux deal. Anyways I had an invalid sysinfo file, I changed it according to the wiki but whenever I tried the installer I get a weir error which reads "The package you selected, factor, has a dependency on 'textinput' which I was not able to satisfy. Sorry, but you can't select this package." I receive the error multiple times, and I have tried all packages. I haven't seen anything similar so sorry if this has already been covered. As a side note I tried using the HP Reformatting tool and then restoring the iPod via the new updater. I'm trying an earlier updater now, I post back with the results. Thanks in advance for reading this. All help is appreciated. --CCCody
Sorry, I didn't see an edit button so if I'm double posting it isn't done purposely. Anyways, the message I get, comes in different variations but it basically says the same thing some factor which it couldn't satisfy.
