ok here is my problem if anyone out there can help me. I own the phillips dvp642 divx dvd player. I join the files with virtuadub and they play fine on the computer, the join is seamless and everyhting is in-sync. I burn the file to dvd pop it in the player and all of a sudden the video jumps foward 5-7 seconds at the split. Tried many things to correct this. Have done it so many times but this is the first time it happens and the only difference i could see was that these new xvids were encoded with anandub and all the other "good" ones were encoded with virtuadub. anyone out there have any suggestions? i think its something with the audio that is screwing me over maybe the joining of the ac3 files, i dunno. I joined the video with no audio and played it back on the player and it was fine seamless join but when i remux in the joined ac3 audio files it skips again.
NanDub can't encode XviD. That means either they aren't XviD (DivX3 or MS MPEG-4 V2) or it was only used for muxing. Try joining with AVIMuxGUI using the standalone AC3 profile.
avimuxgui in standalone ac3 profile didn't work but i figured it out or at least got a procedure that worked. Alot more steps then just using virtuadub-open file-append segment-save as-DONE!. now its more like this. 1. demux ac3 soundtrack using virtuadubmod 2. fix ac3 track with besplitgui (wbiasv081) 3. open file 1, append file 2, disable original ac3 soundtrack and mux in fixed ac3 track now as far as i can see this won't be for all 2 part xvids because i looked at some good joins using gspot and all the good ones(4 movies) were encoded/program used was virtuadub. These 3 crappy joins were all done with nandub so i think with you telling me they used nandub to mux the file is probably where the ac3 files gets messed up. So basically just by fixing the ac3 soundtrack everything went smooth. I burnt all 3 movies to one dvd-rw and on each one went to the split and it just smoothly passed it and everything was in sync no probs. thanks for that bit of info on nandub. hope this helps anyone else with the same problem
