Hi, I have this 4GB XviD video file that I burnt to a DVD-RW. Usually I burn these types of files (usually smaller size video files) onto a DVD-RW and play them in my DVD player which plays XviD with no problems. However, this 4GB XviD file has playback problems. I'm not able to fast forward the video (which I can do with other smaller Xvid files), and the video just stops playing after 5 minutes. I'm using Nero 8 to burn this XviD file onto the DVD-RW. Can anyone tell me how this can be playable on my DVD player? Should I split the 4GB file into smaller ones? If so, how is that done? Thanks!
put that dvd in your computer and use nero to do a disc quality test. maybe you got a inferior burn or bad media. You need to get at least a 90 percent score for it play with no problems.
It is also possible that the video file is corrupted. You can run it through Avifixed before burning it to disc.
Thanks for the replies! Actually, I got it working by converting the XviD file to DVD format. Now it plays fine on my standalone DVD player.
Perhaps your DVD player can't handle the resolution that you output the DivX file at. Also, the bitrate might've been too high.
