Hi, I have an AVI file which I copied to Sony DVD+R using Nero 7. I followed this guide:

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946

I burned it straight to disk at 4x speed which took a total of 3hours 30mins for a 700MB file. I didn't touch my PC while it was doing this btw.

I then put it in my Cyberhome CH-DVD 402

    http://www2.shopping.com/xPF-DabsValue-DVD-MP3-VCD-Player-in-21202228

And it tried to read it, but then came up Insert Disc. Anyone got any ideas of what I did wrong ?

    Thanks

I didnt go into detail reading the guide from a quick glance at it i didnt notice any thing about NTSC or PAL. Nero usually lets you know if its in NTSC or PAL format. Did you Make sure you used the proper one USA=NTSC PAL everywhere else. This one of the things that can cause a disc not being able to be read..

The default is PAL, I didn't change anything so I think we can assume it burned as PAL. Is it a case of do I need to check what format the AVI file is, NTSC or PAL ? Sorry if I'm not asking the right questions and being a bit thick, I'm a bit new to this.

Ok Cool,Well I guess you use PAL. Nero Usually tells you if it a different format And if you want to convert it. Anyways i was looking at the Specs on your dvd Player and it doesnt play +R disc's. Get -R and you should be fine.

OK, I've downloaded the firmware from

    http://www.cyberhome.de/en/Downloads-index-req-viewsdownload-sid-3.html

There is a BIN file and instructions of how to copy the BIN file to CD using an old version of Nero. I can't find where all the options are on Nero 7 that it asks for, any chance you could download the firmware files and have a look for me please ? I would be very grateful, and I'm getting very frustrated !

    Thanks in advance.

Chop, I went into the Burning ROM and accessed the right page from there. I updated the firmwear and it recognised the +R disc. Thanks for all your help.
