problem with ac dc adapter for lasonic dvb 8092

    A lasonic DVD with catalogue no. DVB 8092 was gifted by my brother to his brother in law in INDIA ... however the power supply unit which converts AC to DC(12 volts) seems to be not working .. it says that it can accept 240/110 Volts input ( IN India we have standard voltage as 240 Volts (for single phase) but it does not seem to be working on 240 volts primary input ... would like to know as to why it is not working and should i advise them to buy a new converter

    There should be a switch on it for the voltage change. If not replace it.

    thanks ..i arranged for the replacement of adptor(variable input upto 230volts AC to 12 volts DC with 20 watts power from lamington road market Mumbai and the faulty DVD is working fine ..sunil
