Dear fellow burners, I have a problem that I hope someone out there can help me with. I have been unable to burn any thing with my setup for the last 3 months. I use dvdshrink and dvddecrypter to shrink and burn. I have a HP Pavilion a1130n with a HP740b writer that came with my machine that I use for burning. In addition, I use Verbatim disc exclusively and have always had good luck with them. The obvous suspects are my burner or dvddecyrpter. Could the driver on my burner have become corrupted? or has dvddecrypter become corrupted? or is it perhaps some other problem that I have not considered. If it is the burner, how do I fix that? Would unistalling my present dvddecrpter and reinstalling it (I know that dvddecrypter has been pulled off the market but I do have another copy of it)I had a similiar problem 2 years ago but unfortunately don't remember how I solved it. Could some kind soul out there help me out. I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you.

    Hi Normanl
If you haven't updated the firmware on the burner in awhile update it. The latest is HJ24 from 3/06.

Check and make sure all drives are in DMA and not PIO mode - here's a guide

What speed are you burning at? If not already try 1/2 the rated speed of the media.

Post a log from decrypter too. Open decrypter and press 'L' on the keyboard. The next time you go to burn a log will be generated that you can post here.

    Not a problem

Almost forgot - here's the updated burn engine of decrypter you might want to try- ImgBurn.
To start a log you would do the same as decrypter - press L.
You can also have the autoburn part w/ Shrink using ImgBurn.
Download and put this .exe in the the dvd shrink folder in program files - link
