problem with converting xvid files

    hi there i am trying to convert xvid movie file with intergrated subtitles. I am using the divx/xvid to dvd guide everything is ok untill i try to convert to my xvid file using TMPGEnc but when i input the file into the video folder it says that the format cannot open or is not supported. without converting the file using TMPGEnc i cannot make it into a dvd can anybody help me cause its very frustrating.

    Try use e.g. Power Video Converter or X Video Converter to change the codec of the XviD into video: XviD (unchanged), audio: Mpeg Layer 3, then convert with e.g. VSO DivxToDVD into DVD compliant format.

    hi thanks for your reply ive got the audio and video together at last using ifoedit and it comes out fine the only problem now is that i cannot get my subtitles up ive used all the subtitle files available e.g srt, sub and s25 files of the same subtitle file can you help me as this is pissing me off. By the way the film is ong bak the thai warrior so i need the subs on there otherwise i cannot watch the movie.

    Not really into the subtitle thing myself, but I usually use DVDSanta for its simplicity.

    ive got the demo version of dvd santa and it only converts about 2 mins of the movie is there any way of making it official without paying

    hi thanks for your help got all the problems sorted as you know i am using the divx/xvid guide got the dvd to work but the subs come up green when i have changed the colours to white with black borders but it still comes up as green can u help me.

    Hi, don't know if this will help you but i had simmilar problems converting Xvid files, at the time i was only using TMPEGenc. i now use WinAVI video converter FOR ALL MY Xvid files, it is very quick and very easy. not sure though if it will help with your subtitle problem. good luck.
