dvdfab keeps stoping at around 17% for Over The Hedge. Could it be a bad copy of Over The Hedge? and old version of DVDFab? I'm brand new at at all this so i could use some help.

And is RipIt4Me basically the same thing as DVDFab? If so, which one is better? Thanks

    Hi nuggets22
Over the Hedge has nothing special on it - you may just have a bad press or the disc is dirty/scratched. Try cleaning off the disc with something non abrasive.

The latest DVDFab is 3.0.5.0 so if you're not using that version update to it.

RipIt4Me is a little different from DVDFab Decrypter which is just a ripper.
    RipIt4Me uses Decrypter,FixVts and Shrink - almost a 1 click program.
Here's a step by step guide w/ links to download - link.

    Thanks a lot binkie7.
One more question though: How do i know if a DVD has some special protection on it. I can just shrink most older DVDs without using DVDFab. So is there a cutoff somewhere, or should i just always us DVDFab on newer movies and not even try to just shrink and burn? Thanks again.

    Not a problem nuggets22
For anything new just rip w/ DVDFab 1st or use RipIt4Me.
Probably easiest since Shrink hasn't been updated in over 2 years. (still a good program though).
Anything released by Sony, Disney - Shrink definitely can't handle - that's where DVDFab or RipIt4Me come in. Give it the helps it needs.

I use AnyDVD (not free) but has an option to show the information on the dvd including the copy protection. I see what it is then decide what I'll use.

I have personally ripped and backed up Over The Hedge with DVD Fab and it worked fine.
