When I came on the computer this morning and clicked favorites nothing was there except add to favorites and organize favorites when i clicked add to favorites nothing happens so i searched for my favorites file and got it and saved it to desktop. How do i get the saved favorite files back to Favorites on internet explorer and then i click Organized favorites and then click create folder a message pops up saying An error and occured in this dialog. Can anyone help me out?

I honestly dont know how to help you with that, but you could try this
get firefox and when you first run it will tell you "import favourite/ bookmars" from internet explorer, you hit "yes" . maybe it will work + firfox is a much better/faster browser, so win win situation.

well its my dads pc and when he is use to doing something one way he does not like to change so i would just rather restore the favorites back to favorites than hear him complain about not wanting to use the new program but instead internet explorer and all he wants is favorites to go back to where it belongs

use windows explorer to copy favorites back to documents & settings\dad. see if documents & settings\dad's favorite has a star in front of it because if does than that is the 1 you want to over write.
