Since i reinstalled my computer a while ago i have had some problem with my DVD, ive installed XP and had XP before.

If i put a cd or dvd in it it start to read but my system hangs for a while and explorer goes to "Not responding". I have tried to update firmware and stuff like that but it doesnt work.

If i use a boot disk or boot direct from a cd it works perfect so i dont think its defect. Mabye there is some driver conflicts or something?

I have tried to install and reinstall some dvd related software like WinDVD and Nero.

    Anyone have any idea?

    stuckish,

I think you might want to try your computer's Mfg software support to help you correct any problem which you may have created for yourself.

There are also many computer service companies who, for a fee, can help you out of your current dilemma in very short order.

When you have a problem with backing up a DVD movie or require information on a software program dealing with home video editing we can be of some help.

We're not really setup here to provide you with home computer configuring services free or otherwise.

    Sorry ā€“
