I have through various means (luck, bribery, demonworship, prayers, Santa Claus etc) managed to get my attempt to use my TV as a seconday display to work, sort of.

windows desktop, games, applications and such all work well. BUT whenever I try to play any type of movie (Media Player, WinDVD, RealPlayer, Quicktime) all I get is a black screen in the video part of the programs. For some reason it won't show the actual video content.

Pc is running 1024x768 at 85 hz
TV is running 1024x768 at 70 hz

The Pc is an Athlon 2500xp with 1 GB PC3200 Ram. A Inno 3D GeForce 7800 GS Graphics card with latest forceware from nvidia (updated nov 9th)

The TV has a VGA port in it and I run the signal through the DVI output from the graphics card via a 20 meter vga cable. According to the manual the TV supports up to 1280x768 at 70 hz.

In the Properties menu for the windows display I have it set to Clone view to get the same info to both screens at the same time.

So does ANYONE have even the slightest clue as to why it won't show me the actual videos I try to play

I had the same problem, i solved it by setting nView to dual view instead of clone, and opening the media player on my tv (simple drag, drop and maximize)
