I have a Philips Lightscride Dvd writer model pbdv16lsp1. Used the lightscribe function around 2 months ago and it worked fine. tried yesterday and all i get is a thick black circle around the inner edge of the disc around 1cm thick. I am using Ahead Nero version 6. Tried re-installing software, updating driver from philips, getting the latest lightscribe update and the latest update of nero. Still it does exactly the same. Please help. !!

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I am experiencing the same symptoms only with an ATAPI Drive (Iomega) and HP media. The drive had been working fine with Memorex lightscribe media but started to exhibit the same problem with HP media. It looks like it is doing something similar to an ink overwriting problem that you used to see in a paper printer when it couldn't interpret the control characters.
