Hey guys. I am having problems extracting the audio from some .mov files. Tried Cucusoft but it can't do it. I set up an AviSynth script and the video is fine but the audio becomes a 37 meg file with no sound when I play it back. Do you guys have any suggestions for extracting the audio from .mov files? Thanks for your help.
Maybe try something like "RiverPast Audio Converter Or Video Cleaner" which I have used to extract Audio from Mov files and Converted Mov files but I generally allways use Vegas Video 6 to work with Mov files..... ... or you can apply this simple trick with works even with the free version of TMPGenc (TMPGenc Plus and TMPGenc Xpress, which cost, are not needed at all). You just need to download the plugin QTReader.vfp ( get it from the page http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/showsoftware_tmpgenc_412.html) and put it in TMPGenc's directory. Run TMPGenc. The wizard starts automatically. As soon as it starts. press ESC; now load the .MOV file (browse...); select (at the bottom right of the page) ES (audio only) instead of the default System (Video+Audio). TMPgenc will run to create a MP2 (Mpeg Layer II) audio file. Then you can do what you want with it.
Hey guys, thanks a lot. The Riverpast program worked like a charm. I tried doing it in TMPG too but it would tank everytime I tried loading a .mov. It would say the program performed an illegal operation. Anyways thanks again.
Maybe the plugin didn't work because the priority of plugin was wrong, dunno... What is important is that you could do that job. Good work! And my compliments to Minion!
Hey guys im having the exact same problem as this guy with .mov files. I have to convert my quicktime movies from my gf's camera to mpeg-1 in order to post them to my http://zoid.smugmug.com account(online photo&vid gallery). I used TMPGEnc a few months ago and it worked like a charm, now all of a sudden it will give me video no problem but the audio just isnt there. I think its because i got rid of quicktime for a few weeks and was using "quicktime alternative" because i was having problems with my browser. Anyhow to make a long story short i have since uninstalled qt alternative and installed quicktime 7. I have tried a number of different tools and none of them have worked. I just installed this video cleaner that was mentioned above, but it doesnt do .mov to mpeg-1. In fact its been almost impossible to find tools that go directly from .mov to mpeg-1. PLEASE any help here would truly be appreciated
So heres a very long and painful way to solve your problem if your reading this thread. I used the riverpast video cleaner to convert the .mov to .avi. Then i used the .mov file as the video source and the .avi file as the audio source inside of TMPGEnc to make the .mpg file that i needed. I still dont understand why i couldnt get hardly any tools to extract the audio from the .mov files. I still need help if anyone is reading this thread because the video cleaner program only works for 2 min videos unless you buy and even then they put a watermark on the video. Thats why i was using the .mov file for the video source inside of TMPGEnc.
ok I think I found a solution. I used the riverpast audio converter to convert the mov to a wav. Then I transcoded just the video with avisynth and CCE and then imported the audio and the video into Encore DVD (the authoring app I use) and it muxed it together and so far so good. I wasn't too happy with the quality using Video Cleaner. I really wanted to avoid transcoding twice. I think the audio was copy protected and that's why I ran into so many problems.
