I installed a Chameleon chip, with adaptor.
The xbox wouldn't read any of CDRW disks I made.
After 2 days of making different disk, by different companys, I thought I'd remove the chip and set the xbox back to stock. After I did this, it will not read xbox games from the rom, it says to check the disk, make sure it's an xbox game ect.. just like the error I was getting with the cdrw disks. My xbox is less than 2 weeks old, my questions is, did I do something wrong, that triggered the system to lock out the dvd rom? Anyone else had this problem?

From what I have seen you can't "lock out" your DVD drive. Try whay Peachy said.

I don't know the Chameleon chip at all, did you flash the bios yourself or did it come pre flashed? What was on the CDRW's you were making, BIOS, Games?

    Thanks for the response guys.
I tried the cables, they are all in place, I have a good seed to the board with my adaptor, and the chip slides on no problems. My chip came pre flashed with cromwell 1.8. The disks I made are of the Slayers auto installer. But even with the chip, adaptor removed, It won't even read normal xbox games now, Maybe my rom is just dead....

apart from the cables and the xbox being more than a year old (and you said it's less than two weeks old) i can't think of anything else it could be
have you tried someones else original game?
    or some music
    or a movie?
    just to be sure

I only have like 6 games, tried them all, I'll try a movie and a music cd and see what happens.

It boots fine to the options screen on the xbox, where I can select the memory ect.. I can browse the saved games on my Hard Drive, but it won't read any disc what so ever..

I have a DVD drive I could install, but I would have to make a switchable cable, correct?
