Hi, I have a nec 2510a dvd drive that i got with a new pc in January of 2005. Recently Ive been having trouble trying to burn a data dvd. when I scan the dvd with nero cd speed it comes out with all red meaning a bad disk. These are brand new dvd-rs. Is the new media incompatible with my dvd recorder? I get power calibration errors using nero 6. Ive updated my nero and still get power callibration errors as well as with another free dvd burning program. The last time I used dvd decrypter about 2 months ago it worked fine for a game, but nere wouldnt work. also about 2 months ago i used alcohol 120% to burn an iso and it worked fine. ive updated my firmware and still get the error. I have also instaled force aspi and still wont burn. Any suggestions?
If you get a power calibration error, the disk is now a coaster - the power being calibrated is the laser power, and if it fails (for whatever reason), the burn is aborted and the disk is now unusable - so scanning will be in vain. Try another brand (like Verbatim).
