I just got this tv so i can play my xbox 360 in hd, but in the lower left corner the color is a little off, almost like a magnet was near the tv, i was just wondering if there was a quick way to fix this, its only really noticable when red is is on the screen, any tips would be great thanks, oh yea it is a crt.
If there are no speakers near it it sounds knackered to me! If using component cables then a bad connection could affect a cerain colour but not just in one corner. My old tv had a green patch on one side before it died. : (
I've just talked to a samsung technician about this, and he told me that it's a very regular issue with the Slimfit model. It ocurred because you got an electronic device very close to your tv. The solution to this issue is to disconnect your tv from the outlet and let it that way for several minutes (up to an hour), then reconnect it. Try this several times during the week and the problem should go. I hope you understand my english. Regards.
sounds a bit dodgy, i mean hpw can having an electronic device next to a tv be a problem, what do they think a dvd player is? Are you supposed to have it on the other side of the room? Ow well, do what they say and see what happens. ps mate, if you are not english, your english doesn't give it away.
High current electronics that create powerfull magnetic fields when they are turned on, such as loud speakers, will cause parts of the CRT's shadow mask to undergo magnetization. Most tvs have degaussing curcuitry (coils) that will eliminate this situation on its own. If the tv can't degauss itself it is possible to create your own degaussing coil and rectify the problem yourself. For more info read this (WikiPedia on CRTs): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathode_ray_tube#Magnets Ced
Sorry, I didn't make that too clear, I understand why they can be a problem "oh I'm sorry but the reason your tv doesn't work is because it is near an electronic device" That's like saying,,,,i can't even think of an example but you know,,,that something wont work along with something it goes with.......errrrrrrr, yeah, you get it. It's a tv for gods sake, of course it's going to be near another electronic device! That make your own coil thing is pretty cool though! For some reason I assumed he meant the tv was a LCD or Plamsa though he didn't actualy say that. LCDs don't have that problem do they?
No, only CRTs have this problem. Yea, it would be messed up if a DVD player could frag your tv...lol Point well takin, Ced
Hi to all, Well, I did what the technician told me and the problem was solved. I know, it sounds dodgy, but it worked, and yes, one of my electronics was too close, more especifically, a dsl modem. Cheers!
