    Hey,

I have recently bought a top of the range Fujitsu siemens Computer and over the past few days i have made several attempts to Burn a DVD, and everytime i click the Burn button i get to 3% completion and the DVD drive ejects the Disc and a window pops up saying Disc error disc not readable, I am using the current version of Nero Startsmart. The window says Disc error but the windows pops up with all types of Discs, therefore it is a problem with the Drive and not the Discs.

All help is very much appreciated

    Dan.

Probably needs the firmware updated. If is fails during the lead-in phase, definitely fw issue.Look on the bottom of the discs for any actual burn.

Check out this huge thread all about that Philips 8631 drive, and it ain't purty:

Should be links in there for the latest firmware update, and also a slew of unhappy owners, LOL

What's the Brand name/format/and speed rate of your blank media?
    What's you current firmware version?

Use neroinfotool to find the MID code from your media and fw version.

Explain your backup process. What you ripped/type of files/size of the files, etc.
