Hello. I have both Sonic DVDit! PE, and SE. I have a problem with both. Whenever I click "Movie" on the PE version, the program freezes and it uses 99 CPU. For SE, whenever I add a movie, it freezes and uses up 99 CPU. Any solutions?
I use Premiere Pro and had to upgrade my PC. I imagine that you are in the same boat. For now just do what you can to free up system resources. Unplug from the internet, turn off or disable everything you can. Set your appearance for best performance. What are your systems specs? I would not attempt editing on anything less than a 2.8 gig P4 or equivelent AMD, 1 Gb RAM. Even that is going to be dicey. What exactly does the "movie" function do?
http://www.sonic.com/products/dvdit/requirements.asp Those are the requirements. I have AMD Athlon XP 2600+, 512 DDR RAM.
Just looked over the website, lots of good info there. It looks like your system specs are OK, so the next thing to try is loading in a different movie, clip or still, just to see if you can get anything at all to load without the system crashing. The program supports a wide variety of formats, what kind of files are you trying to load?
I got the program to work, but I have another problem, Frank. When I add an AVI file thats about 170~180 MBs, it comes to about 800~1000 MBs. I can only fit about 3~4 files on 1 DVD and I have a LOT of files. Please help.
Hi, I do not prefer the DVDit program by sonic. When I inserted my MPEG - 2 file into it, it said my DVD was going to be 1000 something GB. It was pretty lame because my MPEG-2 file was only like 2 GB. When I insert a AVI file it works fine but than it has to encode, and I read somewhere that the encoding by Sonic DVDit is not of very high quality and it takes very long. I recommend you just use TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 much better, and if there is a problem with your MPEG-2 it will point it out. Hope that helps ! Regards, DiRect
