I know, it was a silly purchase. I'm already seeing MD's slowly disappear. Unfortunately I am stuck with it.

I've seen problems with the omgjukebox.exe program randomly shutting down all over the internet, and some people have solutions for some problems, and others do not.

It seems that everyone assumes when you have this problem, you need to upgrade to windows xp, SP2. I *have* SP2 and I am getting the problem.

Like everyone else says, sony's support is of no use, and microsoft updates didn't help either.

My only option is to hope that someone has since found a fix, or has written a 3rd party ATRAC3plus converter so I can use my mini disc once again.

I have my MiniDisc player/Recorder hooked up via optical cabling & standard RCA type jacks into a preamp.
The outputs from the preamp go into the computer, Via a console & the external converters.
You should be able to buy an optical lead for the MD player that will plug right in to any lightpipe input in your computer with no trouble at all.
