I have a Japanese movie which I want to burn to DVD. Unfortunately it is split into 2 .avi files, each with their separate .srt file. I need to know how to join the two movie files so they play as a continuous film, and also add both .srt files to the whole thing. There must be a way to do this, but I don't know how. I use Nero Vision Express to burn movies. Any help is appreciated.
Unless you re-encode and burn in the subs Nero (at least with version 6) won't help you. If you have Vobsub installed (get it, it's very useful) you can use it to join the sub files. Use the Vobsub Joiner option. You can always merge AVI's with VirtualDub mp3 freeze (it handles VBR audio better). You could then re-encode with it, burning in the subs (with some quality loss) and give Nero a shot. But sometimes Nero produces audio sync problems. The easiest route is to get ConvertXtoDVD and just load both parts into it. There will be a very slight pause during playback as it switches titlesets (it does not merge). If that bothers you merge first in VirtualDub mp3 freeze (direct stream copy), merge your subs with Vobsub and then go to ConvertX.
