    Hi,

We've just been given this forum from blueyonder because we keep being bombarded with sysprotec and winantiviruspro2006 - which download major trojans, diallers and other annoying spyware. We followed the bit about Vundo and recived the followin log
    ----------------------------------
    VundoFix V5.1.5

    Checking Java version...

    Done!
    -------------------------------------------
We've also noticed a folder called VundoFix Backups - do we need to keep this or can we delete it?

We didn't do the HjT thing because all of the RH1 lines you stated ended in search and the only ones we could see ended in main page - would that be the same? Do we still need to run the HjT part?

Please bear in mind that we are not techinically wise so if you could put it in laymans terms it would be appreciated!.

We're going to do the Java bit now and we have two other forums to visit as well.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Hi,

Have deleted the back up folder - can we delete the txt file as well?

This is the 'log' from running the HJT but we haven't checked and fixed anything yet - are we safe if we just check the ones beingin with R?

    Just one other thing -

One of the other forums suggested switching of the restore point and restarting the computer in Safe Mode, then running the anti virus then re-booting the pc and switching back on the restore point, before we do this would you recommend this as well?

    :)

Yes, you can delete the text file and also I recommend you check to fix these using HijackThis. Do you know what Wanadoo is? If not fix anything with its name.

Again, if you do not use or know what Wanadoo is delete it. You have many various entries of it so, it seems you use it.

After those are fixed, download, update and run this.

After you have ran Panda, restart your computer and post new HijackThis log.

We had to uninstall my AVG in order to run Panda, but we're going to reinstall it later. Deleted all Wanadoo(it's and ISP provider now under the Orange brand). Didn't delete WinBMD (it's part of a national UK project to transcribe Birth Marriages and Deaths from registers to public access). Deleted all the ones you suggested and found that we had no interet access, so have had to reinstall blueyonder drivers. Presuming that one of the Wanadoo originals was he driver.

What do we do about the system restore point, is it worth doing that?

    Are we looking better now.

None of what I listed were drivers. I did not list anything related to Blueyonder. Like you said it must have be Wanadoo. Sorry about that!

These still need to be fixed.

I don't understand what your asking about the system restore point.
Post new log after fix. O20 - Winlogon Notify: geeba - C:\WINDOWS\ may not be deleted...if not we will work on it after the others are gone. Seems to be an ass!

You said you have to uninstall AVG in order to install Panda...I don't understand that. I have used both at once before. If you do not want or do not like Panda and like AVG better, uninstall Panda. It is only a 30-day trial anyway.

[bold]If[/bold] 02 - Winlogon Notify: geeba - C:\WINDOWS\ will not delete using HijackThis try this. http://www.ccleaner.com
After you install, open and click on "Issues". The file is not there to delete, but the mark is still there. Ccleaner may pick it up and delete it. It will also clean your registry, which you need.

Again, I would like to apologize for the internet problem I caused you. I do no live in the UK and I'm not familar with "Wanadoo". If you need anything else please, ask!

    Finally, your clean! :D

    Do you mean Ccleaner?

It isn't necessary to run it but, you will find that it is very much worth it! Open it and click "Analyze" to see how much crap can be removed from your computer.

After you clean, click on "Issues" and click "Analyze", clean if you need to. When you are prompted to back-up your registry just incase something happens(doubtful).
