Ive got a Western Digital Passport External USB HDD
    Model # WD1600XMS-00

I think the sata to usb chip is busted in it and I want to set it up as an internal sata drive.

Now my question is how do I remove EVERYTHING on this drive (even the software put on it by WD) I think there is a hidden partition or something on it where the WD files are stored.

Ive tried to format it with under My Computer with Windows and it dosent seem to work, windows shows there are files on the drive but I cant see them (yes windows set to show hidden files, and os files)

Does anyone know what I could do to wipe this drive completely clean?

Are you in Disk Management? If there is an extra hidden partition, it will show up. If not, then you may as well just go 'delete partition' and then add a new one, as this is the standard procedure for reformatting a drive.
