Hello all, I guess I'm still considered a newbie......I can rip DVD's and reburn to DVD-R's but for the life of me I can't get this AVI- DVD to work. I've tried several scources for AVI files so I know the problem isn't with the AVI. Right now I'm using WinAVI and converting the AVI to DVD. Everyting looks good. I usually end up with a DVD file approx. 3GB in size (give or take). From here I open Nero Express 2 which came with my new Sony dvd burner. Nero encodes it and everything looks good. I burn at the lowest speed 2.4X and you'd think everything went well. However, the DVD will not play on any dvd player, not my JVC, not my brothers Sony, and not my parents cheap $30 player. If I put it in a computer with a DVD player it will start to read it but usually lasts no longer that 15 - 20 minutes before it freezes and I get an error message saying the disc may be dirty or scratched. If I start all over again I can Skip past that scene and it might play again for another 15 minutes but will freeze up again. Any ideas what's wrong here? I want to be able to watch this on my TV, not the computer.
i use WinAVI and after i do that i just burn it with nero burning ROM at 4x. What media are u using, make sure ur burning a DVD Video too
