I had Nero 6 previously installed on my computer and after having so many problems with it uninstalled it and replaced it with the Nero 8 Trial Version available for download from the official site. To my frustration, I'm having one of the same problems as before and near the end of burning a data DVD am getting the "Could not perform end of Disc-at-Once" error. I'm not sure what sort of information you might need to be able to help (new kid here) but I did save the error report so I've pasted it below. Thanks in advance for any help. I really need to get some information off of my computer... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 8K24-0227-1105-EKK5-5000-0023-**** Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - NT-SPTI used Nero Version: 8.2.8.0 Internal Version: 8, 2, 8, 0 (Nero Express) Recorder: <AOPEN DUW1608/12X> Version: A04b - HA 1 TA 0 - 8.2.8.0 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default CD-ROM: <AOPEN DUW1608/12X >Version: A04b - HA 1 TA 0 - 8.2.8.0 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : WDC WD1200BB-22GUA0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off CdRomPeripheral : AOPEN DUW1608/12X atapi Port 3 ID 0 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === AOPEN DUW1608/12X D: CdRom0 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 66060288 (0) Byte BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 447MB (458224kB) Free physical memory: 93MB (95888kB) Memory in use : 79 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 6.1.2008 ISO compilation 3:55:37 PM #1 Text 0 File SCSIPTICommands.cpp, Line 450 LockMCN - completed sucessfully for IOCTL_STORAGE_MCN_CONTROL 3:55:37 PM #2 Text 0 File Isodoc.cpp, Line 6655 Iso document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet : TRUE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : TRUE Allow more than 255 characters in path : TRUE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE 3:55:37 PM #3 ISO9660GEN -11 File Geniso.cpp, Line 3349 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 3:55:37 PM #4 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3502 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 3:55:38 PM #5 Text 0 File FilesystemSettingsValidator.cpp, Line 142 FS Settings: using validator 'CUDFSettingsValidatorDVD' ParamMode = 'automatic', changing UDF partition type from 'physical' to 'physical' Changing UDF revision from '1.02' to '1.02' 3:55:38 PM #6 Text 0 File FilesystemSettingsValidator.cpp, Line 142 FS Settings: using validator 'CUDFSettingsValidatorDVD' ParamMode = 'automatic', changing UDF partition type from 'physical' to 'physical' Changing UDF revision from '1.02' to '1.02' 3:58:01 PM #7 ISO9660GEN -11 File Geniso.cpp, Line 3349 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 3:58:01 PM #8 Text 0 File FilesystemSettingsValidator.cpp, Line 142 FS Settings: using validator 'CUDFSettingsValidatorDVD' ParamMode = 'automatic', changing UDF partition type from 'physical' to 'physical' Changing UDF revision from '1.02' to '1.02' 3:58:03 PM #9 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 307 Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2217423 (492:45.48, 4330MB) 3:58:03 PM #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 319 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD) 3:58:04 PM #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2957 Recorder: AOPEN DUW1608/12X, Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer ID: <RITEKF> <1> Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193 3:58:04 PM #12 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 493 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= Compilation cannot be written on that medium type. The only thing that I can see, your burner's firmware is about 4-5 versions old, so your burner does not recognize the media. here you can update: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1910 Ritek are not the best media, but updating the firmware might fix your problem.
Not a lot of free memory, try closing down any other applications running at the same time. Turn you DMA back on for your hard drive. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/260038
