I have to computers networked with a wireless router both are using XP pro.... i can access one pc fine but the second cant access anything....I have tried setting permission with out using simple file sharing and setting up user accounts but yet i get the same responce..I dont get prompted for a user name and password..one lets me go right in no user name or password and the other gets access denied i am not sure what else to try...will XP firewall do this??? any help
Hey You must share the file in a folder or map the drive to the other pc. Yes a firewall will prevent access if it is enabled on the machine you are trying to access. It will work accessing the machine without the firewall. Do you want to share a particular folder or access the whole machine?
