I can ping it in command prompt yet no ftp program can get through to it. I tried setting the password to that of the xbox, still no luck. ip addresses alike except for last three (suffix) gateway and all others are completely similar... I've also had problems with ftp'ing vertain games but now, after a clean install of xp, I'm having no luck making a connection (yes it was connected and working erlier...) network leds are shing on my card and hub, what gives?
Could be a dodgy FTP client if you can ping it. Try another. If you can ping your xbox then it can communicate over ip so i dont think it can be a firewall, but it might be a firewall stopping whatever program accessing the network. Do you use Zone Alarm? if so kill program control for a while and try that.
