Hi, I’ve just bought a retail copy of GAMES X COPY.

Following the instructions showed in the user guide, I’ve tried to install the program in two different computers, but after that (and after rebooting the PC), when I try to execute it to activate the product, a window titled LOADLIB appears, with the following message:

THIS PRODUCT WAS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY. PLEASE CONTACT 321 STUDIOS TECHNICAL SUPPORT

The product activation screen doesn’t appear in any moment.

I don’t have any idea about the source of the problem.

Any help would be most appreciated.

The configuration of the computers where I tried to install GAMES X COPY are the following:

    PENTIUM III – 450 Mhz
    384 Mb RAM
3 GB free space in hard disk
    Internet Explore release 6.0

    PENTIUM IV – 2Ghz
    256 Mb RAM
8,36 GB free space in hard disk

    Thanks in adance and regards.

I hate to break it to you but 321 is out of business. You may get some help here though:

Your best bet would be to get some real software like BlindWrite or Alcohol 120%. Games Xcopy never performed very well and now that 321 is kaput it won't be updated to handle the new protections as they come out making it even less useful.

Are you using any firewalls or antivirus? If so temporarily disable them.

Then download the current version v1.2.2

Also are your rebooting after installation?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your quick answer.

I don't use firewall and I have antivirus, but I disabled it before the installation.

Yes, I rebooted the PC after the installation.

Because the release sent me by the store is an old version (1.0.8), I'm going to download the v1.2.2 release and I'll try to install it.

I'll let you know the results.

    Thanks again and regards.

The error was in the release I bought. The new release works perfectly, and the activation process finished right.

I've just tried to copy my first game (HALO), and I'd like to know something about some messages showed by Games X Copy while the HALO original is being read.

    The messages are:

    [17:31:30] - Reading Mode : RAW + 96 , Fast error skipping
[17:31:30] - Please wait until DPM analysis is complete.
[17:31:40] - Cannot determine the correct DPM info with current device!

At least the copy is made, but I would like to be sure that it will work properly.

    Another question:

Every time I start the Games X Copy program, the computer tries to connect to Internet. Is this OK?

It's trying to check for updates. Just block it since there are no other updates.

Only way to know is to test it :)

For future XCopy questions you should post in aD's XCopy forum.
