i have a music video that i am trying to import into movie maker. it is an .avi file and it plays just fine in windows media player and in windows movie maker. the problem is that when i import it into movie maker, it comes in as a single clip instead of as a bunch of smaller clips (which is what i want). yes, i do have the little check box in the 'import file' window checked, the one that says 'create clips for video files' but i still get only a single large clip when the import file has completed. any help with determining why this is happening will be greatly appreciated. thanks and kindest regards, leopardhawk
Windows Movie Maker uses Scene Detection to split your File into Clips but if it Detects the Whole File as just a Single Scene then it won"t cut it into Clips and there are no settings in WMM to adjust the Scene Detection Sensitivity so you are Basicly Stuck... All I can suggest is you maybe Cut your File into Clips yourself and then Import the scenes into WMM, Or you could just use a Real Editing application as WMM isn"t a Very Good or Versitile Program but what do you expect for free..... There are some Very Good editing applications out there that can do anything from Editing to encodeing to Makeing VCD/SVCD and DVD"s For under $50 which will have many more Features than WMM.... Cheers
