I am getting a message that says, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing." (Code 39) "Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device." I'd tried updating windows and sony updates at sony.com, but nothing has been hrlpful. Can anybody help me out here,- it has been very frustrating. Thanks, Dylan1
this may or may not help you but sometimes if you uninstall your burner and then reboot.... Windows should correct the problem......it's worth a try! right click on MY COMPUTER...... hit PROPERTIES/HARDWARE tab/DEVICE MANAGER....hit the minus (-) sign in front of DVD/CD-ROM DRIVES/ right click on your drive you want...... then hit UNINSTALL. Rebooting will let Windows reinstall your drive. if this doesn't work...... then you might have to reinstall Windows! or get an installation disk from Sony for that drive! then reinstall your drive and when it asks for installation disk point it to the correct drive!!!! good luck! Also..... if your drive was working before...... then try a System Restore to a previous date where everything was working and you don't loose any programs or information! You can go to the System Restore program found in your START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS/SYSTEM RESTORE...... good luck again.
