Hi: I`m trying to make a DVD out of an avi File, but when Avi2Dvd starts to encode, suddenly my computer freezes and I have no other choice than rebbot or shut down. Does anyone knows why this is happening? How can I fix it? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong? I've read this is one of the quickest and better software to make this conversion. I will appreciate any kinda help.
Without knowing your specs it makes things a little harder, but first off check you have the system resouces to do the job I.e lots of spare ram and a decent spec processor. I had an old pc that always gave up the ghost when it came to converting files, it just rolled over and died!!!!!!!! My solution was to go and get a dvd player that recognises Avi's. Prob not the solution you are after, but if you post your specs somone might be able to help. later
You're right... I have 512MB RAM and 64MB on a Videocard. My processor is an Athlon XP 2100+ (1.73Ghz) There are DVD players that recognize avi files? Didnt know that
I still have the problem, but it seems to be with any program I try. I`ve tried avi2Dvd, WinAvi, Nero, NeoDVD, Colorfull DVD Creator... Do U think my specs are too low??? Or why am I having this trouble???
No way, your specs are fine. I would install this first: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/k-lite_codec_pack_full.cfm I've found Apollo AVI to DVD give me the best results without a hitch. I also use AVS video converter with no problems as well. Free softwares are available like virtualdubmod and such, but it's more hands on. Your proggy you are using sounds buggy.
Hello Haldo, Have you considered asking in the AVI to DVD forum? In here, we turn DVD into AVI (which is the opposite of what you wish). Regards
