I have an image which is contained in a .BWI file. There is also an associated BWT and BWA file. I've tried to mount or burn the BWT on various applications, including Alcohol 120%, DaemonTools and BlindWrite itself. However every time I try, it fails to load the image (and in Alcohol's case, crashes the program). I opened the BWT file and adjusted all the file paths, to match the actual paths to the BWA and BWI files. However, this made no difference and the image still couldn't be loaded. After that, I opened up the BWI itself in CDmage. Upon checking for corruption, it found one, with the log here: I guess that's probably due to some kind of protection, as the corruption isn't actually linked to any files? Anyway I extracted the files manually from the BWI using CDmage. After this I was able to complete the installation of the software by running the Autorun directly from my HDD (the image that didn't work was disc 2). (Note: I also used ProtectionID on the extracted .exe and .dll files, and it didn't find any protection specifically, but it did find a "Suspicious MZ Header") (EDIT: I also just tried scanning with A-Ray, and it came up with SecuROM 7.00.00.0021 on the .exe) I then created a new ISO with Nero, using the CD content extracted with CDmage. However when trying to run the software, it gives an error asking for the original disc. My questions are: 1. Do the BWA or BWI contain any data relating to emulating the protection if it is present (the BWA is about 9kb in size)? 2. Is it possible to make a new, functional BWT file, based on the BWI and BWA, so I can just mount that on a virtual drive? 3. If it isn't possible to make a new BWT, is there any other way I can create a new image, which can either emulate the protection, or remove it completely? If there are no possible solutions, I guess my only solutions are to get a no-cd crack, or get another copy of the second disc. I hope someone can think of a way to sort it out! Thanks in advance.
