problems with "HL-DT-ST DVDRW GWA-4146B" DVD+RW burner

    It won't read CDs or DVDs at all, i've reinstalled the driver and even used system restore and nothing has worked yet, tried multiple programs but, nothing works, any suggestions?

    it plays dvds now but, still no CDs...

    Sam prob with my HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8136B, just 13 months old.. Plays DVDs, not CDs. Data, game, music, store bought, burned, all the same. Am replacing drive. HL-DT-ST drive = junk.

    HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163BA101 what brand is this?

    Hitatchi/LG or LG/Hitatchi makes no diference. Don't plan on much past the warranty date.
