problems with my pannasonic dmr e85h not opening navigator

    Panasonic dmr e85h I have just recently joined the AD forums and I would really appreciate any advice or help you can offer .My problem is this all of a sudden my remote commands to my pannasonic e85h recorder has slowed down ,meaning it takes about 50 seconds to a minute before the command changes I change from dvd to hdd I have to wait till I get the blue hd light my other problem is when I try to open up navigater to watch my recorded programs it wont open and I know it has recorded it just wont open up for me I am a rookie and I dont want to push the wrong buttons can anyone help me or do I have to take it to a repair shop ,thanks dbrogan37

    You can try setting it back to factory settings (like it was when you bought it). It should tell you in the owner's manual, how to do this. It may be in the troubleshooting area.

    Sometimes, unplugging it, and leaving it unplugged overnight, will reset equipment. If all else fails, contact Panasonic about it, and see what they say.

    I'm running into a similar problem. Although I do not get the blue light. But when I press play in HDD mode, my save shows plays and I am able to index the shows by pressing the << and >> shows on the unit (only after I switch from HDD to DVD back to HDD). Very odd.

    I don't think it's the HDD as I can watch all of my shows, just bring up navigator or TV Guide or Setup. I have heard about corrupt RAM and bad power supplies being problems.

    I tried updating the firmware from the Panasonic website and that didn't fix the problem either.
