I use dvdfab decrypter and vobblanker to decrypt my dvd. I used to be able to then copy the dvd with dvd 1 click copy or nero recode no problems after. But now even movies I have copies successfuly in the past just wont work. I get a write error using 1 click and when I copy with Nero it just tells me I am using the wrong media that I havea -r and it takes +r. I have always used -r before and have never had any problems.

Any idea what is going on now?

Darn that isnt the correct one I went and copies the dvd using a different method using nero, not nero recode. But it will only work with a disc less than 4.7 gigs.

I am having a hard time finding the log but I will post it next time I copy dvd as I get this message all the time. It keeps on telling me that the disc type dvd-r is not valid or something.

    Ok here's some suggestions:
You can use a firmware update on the drive - the latest is A106.

Take the burn speed down to 8x when burning dvd's. The 1st log you posted the disc was burned at 16x.

    File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS
Roxio and Nero don't always play well. So uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool

Thanks, I will update the firmware, but I have a question. It says to read the installation instruction but I dont have any with mine.

Do I just download the exe file and run it?

    Yep you just run it.
Have no discs in the drive, close any programs running and keep the power on. Doesn't take long to update - few minutes maybe.
    Reboot when doing updating.

For the DMA - you setup is a little different then the guide. The guide shows ide connections. Nero only reports those correctly but check yours just in case. In device manager look for Nvidia or sata controllers.

Ok just installed the new firmware for burner and checked the dma option in device manager. Here is what I see.

I have 3 nvidia folders: One is Nvidia nforce4 parallel and 2 are Nvidia nforce4 Serial.
Under the parallel one there is no master drive but the slave drive there is writing in the box that is greyed out it is (Ultra dma2-Ultra 33) then the let bios detect box is checked.
    \
The first Nvidia nforce 4 serial subheading is empty, no master drive or slave drives have any info.

The 2nd Nvicida nforce4 serial has the master drive selected with no secondary drives.

Is this normal? Or should I just uninstall these and restart the computer?

I'd leave those alone for now -you're probably ok there.

Try burning now at 8x or lower with the updated firmware.
