Ive installed the software that came with the net md and everything was working fine (i was able to record songs on to my mini disk directly thru USB cable). But now when the mini disk is connected (it says so on the player itself) on the computer (using sonic stage software that came with the sony player)it says device not connected!! help!! Ive checked usb drivers and as far as i can see no problems. but the computers says its not connected! what to do?!

I have had this problem before, but I have found that it is not a cable or computer problem, but a problem with my Mini Disk player. I have gotten a good 1 year of life out of it, but alas it was dropped a good couple of times and it threw its power connections and internal readers off all together. I am afriad that there is just so many moving parts in there, if one gets damaged the rest will eventually follow. I am considering changing to an MP3 player soon, as cool and slightly affordable as mini disks were, I found that they also became a trap, due to the songs that were converted from CD to be able to burn them onto the mini disk player couldn't be changed to a universal format. Good luck to you!
