Problems with playing some avi files

i can't play some avi files on WMP. it adresses a missing codec error. Its always a audio codec problem and i'm having it since i've had a problem with WMP recently after i install a new game.
i've downloaded avi codec to discover the codecs missing, but i still cant play the files.

Besides being always a audio codec missing, it tends to happen with nb 2 files on a 1 & 2 movie type of files.

Yesterday i hd this absurd experience of playing a part1 avi file of a film (coach carter, doesnt really matter, but ok) and cannot play part 2.

I've browsed a lot over the web, even here and i've seen some threads on getting a codec pack and some other codec identifier program.

But i'm afraid that that might not result...i've installed all audio anc packs of codecs i've seen on these threads.

can you help me, plz?

Try this its VLC media player it will most likly play the video file you want to be played.

Try GOM Player. It has codecs built-in like VLC, but much prettier.

Yea hey both of you i downloaded GOM player it looks good as and tried some avi's good program.
