problems with sound when i use dvd player

hi ive been downloading for ages i use convert x to dvd for converting but lately when i burn a film it plays fine on pc but wont on dvd player movie sound is all distorted can anyone help only the last month or so its happening thanks .

 

Does it make any difference if the 'Automatically adjust sound levels' box is checked in the 'Audio' settings?
