Hello.heres my problem : My pc was running fine but i've decided to format it beacuse it was so full of old programs etc. So i formatted it , and then the video resolution is 800*600, so i try to change it, and the monitor doesnt show it. I check the videocard to see if it is plugged fine, and it is really hot. so i put another video card and worked fine in any resolution.

My videocard never heated up till this moment? What i can do to solve the problem?

    My video card is a :3dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI 16MB Video Card
My os is: Win xp with SP1

get a system blower that sits beside the videocard to help cool it down

It looks now, that the card doesnt show any resolution. yesterday i lowed the resol to 800*600 whgile i had other card, so the Voodoo could show me the screen, and it did. But now, the card doesnt want to show me anything. It shows me everything till the "Windows is beggining" screen :S

I still think it is a driver issue. Boot into Safe Mode, remove old video driver and use one of those on the link I provided yesterday. 3DFX quit making drivers back in the DirectX 6 times, that's how old the card is. The link I provided yesterday has 3rd party drivers for Windows XP since there never was any provided by 3DFX and they had went under and was bought by Nvidia before Windows 2000, much less XP, was released. The Voodoo 3000 in my wife's computer works fine with those drivers but with just a straight XP install only one resolution was available.

As far as the overheating, the 3000 always did run hot. That was the last model they made with heatsink only.

Ok, I Staqrted the PC in Safe mode, and the card worked perfectly (in safe mode,) in 1024*768 and the others, but it doesnt work in windows.
So, maybe it is the driver, I'll check

@Xian: I couldnt get the fiules from the li nks you gave me,the files there aren't there more

Ok , The Problem Was Solved
I dunno exactly how it got fine, but this is what i did

    1: Entered on safe mode
2: Removed the Video Card from windows
    3. Reebot and log in windows normal

And now i have all the resolutions available
