I use VLC as my main video player. I like it particularly because it can play DVD-ISO files directly. But every now and again it hits a file it can't play. If I write the file to DVD it plays it fine, but if I then use DVD Shrink to recreate the ISO file it still won't play. I have a file now that won't play in VLC on my computer nor will VLC play the DVD I burned from that image using IMG Burn, but it plays perfectly in VLC on someone else's Windows machine. I haven't a clue what's going on - does anyone else? Is there any other simple player that will play a DVD-ISO file? Should have said - I'm using Win 7 x32 on a two years-old Toshiba laptop.
Try using kmplayer.. I like it better than vlc, it looks nicer and has better keyboard shortcuts. It's free too. TBH I only play video files on it, I've never tried using a dvd with it so not too sure, but it's worth a try..
another player thats excellent is XBMC its another free software.. latest version of VLC is 1.1.7 there is a stanalone version that doesn't need to be installed just run from its own folder. J.R.
Try power iso or ultra iso , these can mount your iso on virtual drives ... so now u can view your iso movies just as if they were actual physical disks...
