    First post here, hope it's in the right place.

    I have been trying to edit together some short movie clips using wmm but the program keeps crashing, movie maker has had no problems importing the video or audio files but i can't add more than one or two clips before it stops responding, i have been adding a clip and then saving the project but it is annoying having to close and then re-open the app every time it freezes (about every ten minutes). I'm very new to windows movie maker and haven't read any guides yet as it seems so straight forward. Does anyone else here have the same problem? Too many codecs installed? Am i pushing it too hard?
    I have a 2.80 ghz processor so my pc should be up to it. Perhaps i need to prepare my sources better as i am combining mpeg,wmv, asf etc..I thought as wmm was having noproblem actually importing the files that i wouldn't have to worry too much about file extensions but..
    Can anyone help?

    Well Windows Movie Maker is not a Particularilly Good or even Very stable program....

    If you want a Good editor that is Stable and Can Join Multiple Files of Different Types then I suggest that you maybe Invest a Little Cash and Get a real editing program.....

    I rescently Ran across and Very inexpensive Editing program that has Lots of effects and Transitions and Features only found in Editors that can cost up to 10 times as Much and it is Fairly easy to use....

    It is called "MagiX Movie Edit Pro v10.0" and it costs under $50 and Supports Most all file Types and Can Create VCD/SVCD and DVD"s wihout the need for any other Software and it also comes with about 500mb of extra Menu"s and Images and Clips ect that you can use in your projects......

    Cheers

    Uhm, yeah, here's the thing: he didn't ask for an advertisement about MagiX. He asked for help on a specific program. Don't post here unless you're having similar problems or you know the solution, okay?

    Also, do us all a favor and fix your keyboard's shift key, phonics rocket.

    I suffer from similar problems. It usually happens when I'm working with .AVIs that are DivX-encoded, but not as often with other files. Any suggestions or solutions are appreciated.

    Minion stated that the program isn't that good, and suggested an alternative method.

    @takeru,

    Not a very good first post. Minion is well deserving of the Addict status and has helped many many people. So the next time you want to get an attitude I would think twice.
