    Hello Everybody,

Firstly, a quick almost noobish question that might deem further questions unnecessary,,,do only NTSC dvd's allow prog scan playback?

I am in the UK, I have a HD LCD tv which supports prog scan, 60htz etc. I have a Sharp SD-AT50DV home cimema system which includes a prog scan dvd player. Yet my tv tells me that the signal from the DVD player is 576i (interlaced). I've been into all the options and there is nothing to manualy change output to prog scan.

I run the component cables through a switch box along with the component output from my PAL xbox (which is running in NTSC mode) and the tv tells me the xbox signal is 480P as it should be.

Why can't a get prog scan from my dvd player,,,,is it because I am in the UK using PAL dvd's ??? please help, this is really annoying me!
