Does anyone know a good program to cut 20-30 second clips out of an MP3 to use as cell phone ringtones? Thanks in advance.
you have a couple options. you can use an audio editor, such as Audacity which is free to cut up your audio clips. or you can use a splitter program. two good ones are mp3 splitter and joiner, and mp3 surgeon. they unfortunately are not free though. not aware of any splitters that are.
I downloaded mp3directcut yesterday and used it. After a little fidling I was able to cut a piece of a song and get t over to the phone via the instructions given. Now I just gotta fina prgram now to convert .cda and .wmv to mp3 format. It was quite easy actually. Gonna try and see if you can make a few and transfer a few at once. Will post when I do.
for converting CDs to mp3, use EAC (exact audio copy) for converting wma to mp3 use dBPowerAMP. You can find links to both in my sig below.
Thanks guy. So I assume that after ripping and converting, you will need to have a phone and computer that is bluetooth capable or have a phone that can transfer and accept files via USb cable?
I beleive that is how it works, although I myself have not converted computer audio files to a cell phone, so I'm not sure of the exact procedure. good luck.
you could always find a hacked version of adobe audition and edit the songs and put it in crappy quality! then there goes your ringtone!
well if the phone doesnt have extra memory then the quality will be crap because some phones dont offer uber mb only like 16mb and thats like not alot. I dont know IM me or something i could seend you all the ringtones i made if i can find them
Here's something you might want to try, it's free as well. ToneThis http://www.freewarefiles.com/program_5_186_19180.html
I went to the site and it the software looks good but I rather hear some of those on this board with first hand experience.
