I have been working for a while trying to find a way to take Quicktime video clips and burn them onto DVD-R. I cannot find a way as of now. When I try to use IDVD 3 the audio and video are out of sink no matter what format I convert the files to with quicktime. Also no matter what format they are converted into, iMovie will not read them. Does anybody know of a program that can be used to put these files on a dvd to play them my dvd player? The audio and video is not out of sink when I play them in quicktime. Any help is appriciated John
When you say "out of sink" I guess you mean out of sync. Anyway use Toast 6. Just select the video tab, choose DVD-Video, the format you want (NTSC or Pal), select the video quality and drag the QT movie onto the Toast window and press record. As simple as that.
Look, I've tried this and it doesn't work. Is there a limit to what Toast 6 can handle?? I have Quicktime 6.0 and playable QT video files in the 600 to 700 meg range and when I drag and drop them on Toast 6 in the DVD-Video selection, usually Toast 6.0 shows them in the window and then I try to burn them. Toast tries to encode the files and sooner or later just crashes and it never even makes it to trying to the burn the DVD. Any ideas?? What other Mac software can I use to burn playable QT files onto a DVD so that it will play in a DVD player?? I been working on this for weeks with no success. I've tried ffmpegx plus others to convert the mpeg and mov files and everytime something doesn't work!! Usually the audio never works but the video plays fine. I am trying to get these files to work with DVD Studio Pro 2.0. What are the settings in ffmpegx for the audio to work in DVD Studio Pro?? I have tried numerous settings and have never got this to work!!
It works. I have done it plenty of times with files up to +3GB. Are you using Toast 6.0.3? Toast 6 is not very stable under Panther. Another possible cause may be problems with the source material. Toast will pick up errors that QT just skips.
I've got Toast 6.0 and am running Panther 10.3.2 on a G5 Dual 2 GHz w/512 Meg of Ram. I'll upgrade Toast and see if that helps any. Glad to know somebody's gotten it to work!! At least that gives me hope to try again! Thanks.
